  • Turn the printer ON.

  • Unplug the power cable from the back panel of the printer without turning off the printer.

Fix for Epson Error Code 0x97?

Try the procedure:

  • Unplug and Plug-in
  • When this error message appears. Turn on off power and unplug.

  • Unplug USB drivers.
  • Remove all printer cartridges.
  • Still turned off, press down power to release all remaining current in the printer.
  • Plug in all cables and USB. Reinstall printer cartridges. Turn power on.

                  Release power button. Check if error message still appears.

  • Clean Mechanic Pad
  • Turn off printer and unplug.
  • Remove printer cover and casing.
  • Wet tissue with warm water. Wipe cleaning pad.
  • Leave wet tissue for a few minutes on the pad.
  • Remove tissue and leave it to dry completely.
  • Plug in and turn on printer. See if error persists.

Unable to scan

Unable to scan - USB Connection

  • Check the machine's Touchscreen for any error message and clear it.
  • Turn off your machine, wait about 15 seconds, and then turn on your machine.
  • Disconnect and then reconnect the USB cable on your computer and your machine.  Remove any docking stations, USB hubs, or extension cables.
  • Make sure that the scanner driver is installed.
  • Attempt to scan a document.
  • Uninstall the Brother software.
  • Reinstall the Full Driver and Software Package
  • Once the installation completes, attempt to scan a document again.


Unable to scan - Network

  • Try to print the Network Configuration report from the printer. 

                Did the report print?
                                Yes, Check the IP address, if the IP address is valid.

                                No: Check if the paper is in the tray and if there is any error message in the touchscreen. If you find any error message, need to work as per the error message.

  • Is there Valid IP address in the printer:

                                Yes, check the printer properties and drivers.
                                No, connect an Ethernet cable from your machine to your router and then reset your machine's network card to re-establish communication.

  • Attempt to scan with windows Fax and Scan a document.
  • Once the driver installation completes, attempt to scan a document again.
  • If the machine scans, then the scanner and driver are working correctly and the issue is resolved.
  • If the machine still doesn't scan:

                Try a different Ethernet cable.

                A firewall or security application may be blocking.

  • Reboot your computer and the power to machine.
  • Reboot the power to your router.
  • Attempt to scan from another network-connected computer to see if this computer is the cause of the problem.
  • Printer in Error State Fix
  • Check the physical components of the printer like cover, cartridge of the printer, paper in tray and paper jam etc.
  • Turn off the printer.
  • Turn off the computer and unplug the power cables.
  • Wait for 10mins and then re-plug power cables and restart the computer.
  • Once the computer boots to the normal desktop, restart the printer.
  • Uninstalling the Printer and printer applications
  • Update the printer driver from device manager

Printer diagnostic error code 0x803c010b

Error 0x00000057 is a printer correlated with Windows where users are not allowed to add a printer. It is generally due to corrupt drivers which were once installed earlier and the permission issues.  Now when we try to add a printer the corrupt files does not allow the new printer to be added.


  • 1. Press and hold the Windows Key and then Press R
  • 2. Type services.msc in the run box, and click OK
  • 3. Look for “Print Spooler” service, right click on it and select Stop.
  • 4. Check if the printspooler service is off, then open the run box again and type printui.exe /s /t2 and Click OK.
  • In the name field for the name of the printer causing the problem and then remove it.
  • 5. After the printer is deleted, go back to the services.msc and restart the print spooler service.



Process to clean the printer Queue

  • Press and hold the windows key and tap the letter R
  • This will open the RUN window. In the RUN window type SERVICES.MSC and click on OK
  • Scroll down to PRINT SPOOLER. Double click on the print Spooler that will PRINT SPOOLER Properties window
  • Click on Stop in the service status column.
  • Wait for 20 Seconds and click on start in the print spooler 
  • If the queue still persist, then we need to restart the system once.
